Washington, DC

It's kind of funny because I thought I wasn't going to be involved in any school related activities this summer... but I have been having meetings once a week at the school as a PRSSA presidency. The meetings are fun, and we're going to have a really fun year:) I'm excited because everyone is very self motivated, and realistic. Sure we put out a lot of great ideas, some crazy and far fetched, but at the same time we realize what we can and can not do, and what hoops we will need to jump through to get what we want done. I think we'll be really successful and it will be a GREAT resume builder. It's crazy because I had a teacher mention to me in New York in March that I should do it... thought it sounded nice but didn't think I would actually do it. But then my good friend Angela told me she was going to run for President and that we were gonna get a team together and all run, and she wanted me to be the VP of Events.... and we all got elected. I'm kind of nervous for the year, and how busy I'll be... but I'm hoping that I have learned from last semester and will be able to balance my school life and social life pretty evenly.

Anywayyy.... every year PRSSA(public relations student society of America) puts on a National Conference for any PR student that wants to attend. It's always in a different city throughout the U.S., and this year it's in DC!!! How cool. It's from October 15-19, and we will be interacting and meeting public relations professionals and students from all over the country. We will be meeting with professionals working in fashion, politics, crisis communication, entertainment and many other fields to receive advice, career tips, and experience. We will also have a bunch of free times to go take in the sites, and really experience D.C. I will definitely be taking advantage of visiting the historic sites. I love that kind of stuff.
