Habitat for Humanity

A few weeks ago I went with some friends in the ward to Springville to help work on a home with Habitat for Humanity. And what an AMAZING organization it is. We were installing lights and wiring, cutting and installing doors and framing. Tons of different things. I was assigned to the painting crew, and with a few others we painted the whole house, walls and ceilings. Apparently I can't paint without getting it all over myself, so that is what happened. I love painting so who cares. It is part of the fun:) Music was going, and it was really neat to see everyone working so hard. We got a lot done and it felt good to see the progress as the morning went on. We had a group there in the morning, and then some other people in our ward were going to work for the afternoon shift.

It's refreshing to do things for others. I love it!!! It's really true that we find true happiness through serving and helping others. As much as I want to do volunteer work, I let the busyness of school and work get the best of me. I'm going to make it a goal this semester to not let this happen. I have been given so much, and can be so selfish. I'm surprised Heavenly Father hasn't struck me down yet! It's a ton of fun, and it makes life more purposeful when we are helping others.
