Kate & William

When the royal wedding happened on April 29th, I thought it was crazy how many people were staying awake, or setting their alarms to wake up at 4:00 in the morning JUST to watch Prince William and Kate wed. A couple they don't even know, probably will never see, and that do not live on the same continent as us. Don't get me wrong, I'll admit I love reading silly magazines like "People" when I go on trips and will sometimes google information about the couple. However, it was more of a -if it's around or in front of my face i'll indulge and then forget about them- type thing. Well, since I came home to Calgary for a few weeks I quickly learned that Kate and William would be visiting Calgary for a few days while I am here. I thought this was pretty cool seeing as how I went to London a number of years ago and stood outside Buckingham palace with no luck of seeing them, but now they would be coming to ME...sort of. My mom looked up the different events the couple would be at while they were here and found out some places we could visit to try and get a sight of them. We went to the Calgary Children's Hospital and saw them just after their plane landed in the city. There were a lot of people there, but less then I had anticipated. I was able to shimmy my way up to the front of the fence to have a better look. When they arrived I felt so giddy! I don't know what it is about that couple, but they just make me happy haha. Here are some photos of that day.

We also went to the Calgary Stampede Parade on friday morning, not just because they were going to be in it, but because the stampede parade is AWESOME. It lasted SOO long. I don't know if it's usually that long every year, but it was long this year. We actually left early. Kate and William were at the very beginning of the parade. They drove by pretty quickly and their windows weren't down very far so it was hard to see them. Still cool, but I'm really glad we went to the hospital the day before because we almost didn't go, and we ended up getting really good views of them.
